We had a full house at the latest Sub Urban Meetup for Youie Mourra's presentation.
Youie started his presentation stressing the importance of having a plan that not only covers your business but also the time you spend outside work - with your family and friends and on your own personal development or projects. This means planning what you want to achieve throughout the year rather than getting to New Years and thinking - "oh I didn't do that stuff I hoped to :( "
Sitting at the front of the room, I noticed lots of "ah ha's" and lightbulb moments for our attendees.
Although I am pretty organised and focussed at work, when it come home time can drift away. The big things like holidays are sorted but the equally important things like inviting friends around for dinner get left behind in day to day life.
So yesterday, after Youie's talk, a bunch of old friends got emails from me inviting them to catch up - they probably got the shock of their lives!
The second part of Youie's talk was super practical tips to enable us to maximise our productivity.
My top tip takeaway was to write a "to do list" at the end of the day so I can start my work as soon as I get into Sub Urban. It will also clear my head and enable me to do those cool non-work things I'm now planning for the evening and weekend !
Youie has kindly agreed to share his slides with us - so I will post these soon.
A big thank you to Youie for sharing his knowledge with us, to Mike Meyers and Reed Wade for taking photos and for all out Meetup participants who attended and donated towards our Sub Urban Social Enterprise Scholarship.
