Last night I had the pleasure of speaking with Dave Moskovitz, also known as "the godfather of startup”.
Dave has a Linkedin page as long as the Wellington coastline with a multitude of ventures that he has been involved with and supported over the years.
Like most people in our fair city Dave's reach goes beyond the business sector into community as well. He is passionate about interfaith understanding and supporting families.
Recently I was in New Plymouth and chatted with some people from the UK working temporarily in New Zealand in documentary-making and medicine. I said to them “make sure you come down to Wellington and have a coffee with the people in your industry that you most admire". They looked at me as though I was a bit bonkers.
Spending time talking with Dave was a case in point (that I’m not bonkers). He’s a busy guy but will set time aside for someone with passion.
With people like this in our city I feel very confident that Sub Urban’s mission will become a reality - to make suburbs places where people can collaborate to use their amazing skills to create enterprise and innovation - in a uniquely suburban way.
Dave has offered to come out to Sub Urban to run some workshops/guest speaking events for us. So watch this space.
Here’s a TED talk that Dave did….
Thanks Dave, for making Wellington such a great place to do business.
