On Friday 17 November 2017 I presented to the Wellington Chrysalis for Women business group about my favourite subject – Collaboration.  Or put more simply, working together. The slides from this presentation are above.

I gave a brief introduction of my story of growing up in suburban Lower Hutt and how my experiences both professional and in the community sector had inspired me to create SubUrban Co-Working.

I outlined my definition or “recipe” for collaboration being

A group of people – with shared values and respect for one another – come together to achieve the same aim. Everybody benefits in different ways. People bring their own koha/ contribution. Everyone is equally valued by the group.

and then the 9 steps I take to create collaborative projects.

1. Be a Collaborative Person

2. Build Collaboration Network

3. Build Relationships

4. Get Your Team Together

5. Your First Team Meeting

6. One-to-One Follow Ups

7. Your Second Team Meeting

8. Ongoing commuication

9.  Get Support

The story and learning is much richer when told in person and I am more than happy to deliver this presentation to other groups. Contact me if you are interested.
