Jayesh Mistry is a Co-Founder and Software Architect at SwerveLogic. SwerveLogic is a California based startup, that’s simplifies digital asset distribution. They help customers take content from their internal servers and safely and securely publish it to contractors, customers and communities.
Jayesh spends a lot of time in the sunshine in the SubUrban Garden Skyping his workmates in California (hence the photo!).
I asked Jayesh how he ended up working here at SubUrban.
“Prior to working at SubUrban, I was working from my home office – on my own :(.
I realised that I needed to be around people when I’m working. Although I had colleagues to work with, they were only available online.”
“When my partner arrived home, I would just talk to her non-stop because I had been alone all day. I (eventually) realised that I needed to be in an office environment with other people around me”
Jayesh now co-works full time at SubUrban. I asked if this was a tricky decision to make, considering the extra cost to the family?
“My partner helped me make the decision. She made me realise that my mental health was more important than anything else.”
And what made him stay?
The people. From my first day here, everybody has been lovely and welcoming, I felt settled right from the beginning. The daily social interaction (I didn’t realise how much I needed that when I was working solely from my home office) and a distraction free work environment – I don’t need to worry about the chores at home.
